Hey Hey, I'm Walking!

Not totally sure why, but Hoppy likes to go for a walk on our 6th floor hallway early in the morning, and my wife enjoys taking him everyday. I suggested going to one of the tiny parks down the street instead, since the hallway is basically bare, with seemingly nothing to interest a rabbit except grime from nearby factories and dead cicadas. She basically told me I was crazy, noting that some websites warn of some poisonous grasses or other plants that bunnies should stay away from. So that's that.

As for Hoppy, he doesn't mind one bit. It's hard to tell from these pictures, but the little dude flies up and down the hallway... and sometimes up or down the stairs to other floors!

Heh. I guess this is one thing about the hallway that would interest a rabbit. Even animals enjoy looking at the dawn sky, huh?

Counter Measures

Hoppy likes to scratch, pick and chew at our cushions, like the ones in the picture. But I read somewhere that it's not good to scold a rabbit like you would scold a dog or a cat. Let's just say a rabbit can hold a mean grudge.

The solution? Give him an alternative. In our case, when he starts chewing at a cushion, we run over with a grass square, like the one in the picture here. We give that to him to pick at and chew. The downside is that I have to sweep up the floor afterwards!

Grass

Hey there. Let's talk about grass. No, not that grass. You know, the kind that I eat.

Besides my daily rabbit food, I get timothy grass. I get the dry kind...

...and the fresh kind that the Old Man grows on the balcony. Yum yum yum...

Also, the Lady buys me a lot of toys every month, like this grass hut. I can relax in there and eat it if I want. You humans can't do that. Ha!
